MUSIC WITH NO BORDERS
The project was launched in 2019, winning the ‘Davis’ Projects for Peace’ prize. Organising a two-day event in Warsaw, we successfully proved that music is indeed a universal language, which has an incredible ability to connect people of different cultures and backgrounds. Thanks to a collaboration with the world’s largest music NGO Jeunesses Musicales International and their newly set up innovational enCORE Classical scheme, we were able to build a highly diverse and interesting programme, featuring talks, concerts and workshops. Through musical collaboration and discussion, we showed the importance of artistic activity in building understanding between us.

“The idea of the project grew out of the urge to combine my passion for music and social engagement with current affairs. I am a classically trained musician and cosmopolitan in my international outlook. However, as politics is becoming increasingly parochial, I wanted to figure out how I could engage with this. I thought music could be a truly useful tool.”
